Carb throttle bases

Trying to figure out what these holes are on my Rochester 2G carb base. They are above the throttle plates and go all the way through.

“Mike’s Carbs” is a excellent source for quality parts and information on carbs. I’ve rebuilt many of those. I used to run Pontiac tri powers. They are very dependable, low maintenance carbs, once setup.
