from the paint and body side...
Go steal the roll of that grid pattern grippy stuff your wife lines the shelf with.
Paint your parts gloss black, let it cure, lay over the shelf liner using tape or hanging weights to get it snug, spray it with some silver pearl, remove the matting and pound on the clear...
extra points for adding other colors than silver.
Side note: finished carbon fiber panels dont usually show the weave very well.
Also: you can use a heavy plastic bag and a shopvac to apply expensive wood veneer evenly, I imagine this process could be used as well.
