I have 3 of them in different cars, they are great. I have been able to just take the frame(s) to the glass guy and have him cut the glass and install it, no template, your mileage may vary.

Thanks for the info 409. I may just do that. I called and talked to the new guy yesterday and he sounded much more knowledgeable. So if I get a good vibe when I go over I might just leave the frame with him. Glad to know you are using the CCR frame as well. You've got some nice cars btw.

Hey Spanky, is that a Sun tach on your column? And what is that note on your dash? Dash & frame look nice btw.
Does anyone remember the Stars & Stripes edition of the Sun super tach II? I found this one in a box when I was cleaning the shop out a couple weeks ago. Can't remember what I had it in or why I pulled it out.
Had to be something from my HS days.

I picked up my new CCR frame from the glass shop last Saturday. Was not excited with what I saw. Keep in mind this was a brand new polished frame and I gave him the glass setting tape Jerry sent with the frame. He told me ok on the tape and that he'd be extra careful with the new frame and tape it off. Well when I picked it up the frame was scratched up, had sealant all over it because he didn't use the tape and used sealant instead. Said the tape was too difficult to work with. And in one corner the glass was cut short and doesn't even go into the frame channel. My wife was with me and I didn't want to cause a scene with her there so I said how much. He knew I wasn't happy so he said $110 cash. I had the cash but had another plan in mind. So I said I forgot to bring cash will a check do. He said $125 with check but their was a teller machine close. Told the wife write him a check and i put the frame in the car. We left and as I was pulling out of the driveway I told the wife to call the bank and put a stop payment on the ceck. She did and they did. He called me Monday saying the check was no good. I told him my address was on it if he wanted to come over and discuss it.
Pictures are how I received the frame back from him. Unfortunately the sealant is hard to see in the pictures. Very obvious he didn't bother to tape anything off. He had tried to clean it some as it was dull in places. Took me 6 hours using 0000 steel wool and acetone to get the sealer off. Then I worked some of the scratches out, repolished it and put it on the car. Still needs work but at least it's presentable now.
Hard to see glass gap because of camera focus. Same issue with seeing the sealant on the frame.
Razorblade helps the focus.
Sorry for my rant and I'm sure you guys are tired of hearing me whine about my frame / glass issues. I'm going to look into a glass cutting class and just start doing it myself. I'm just tired of dealing with these jackwagons that don't take a lick of pride in their work.

Here is the istalled frame. I really like the CCR frame and doubt I will ever use another Mr Roadster. The 20" was a little tall but I think the 18" is about right looks wise and I'm still behind the glass.fletcherson

I totally get it. I hate when people half ass stuff. I had a similar issue with a guy that was a professional media blaster... he owns a frame repair and media blasting business... guaranteed he could get the chrome off of a pair of bumpers... it was peeling, etc. He called and said that they were ready, I went and he had this song and dance about why they weren’t done. I paid him, threw the bumpers across his shop to demonstrate my disgust, then threw them into my truck and left. He called me several times, but I’m done. His other customers were wondering too. Had he called and said that he overestimated his machine, anything... but just to expect paid for crap. I know someone that since works for him as his lead welder so I get my jabs in... work ethic is dead, it seems. That money will be the last he gets from me or anyone I influence.
I must say, even with the sub-par glass installation, you've managed to clean and detail it to the point where no one else will notice. Looks great!

Thank you Spanky. Do you happen to have any tips on reducing windshield glare? This one in particular seems to be pretty bad and using RainX hasn't helped any.
The flat safety glass is pretty glare-prone, and it is related to the angle. Tinted glass makes it worse. Mine has a slight rearward tilt, and that helps, but you might try polarized sunglasses.

Yeah, I get it. Straight up windshields kinda suck when it comes to the glare. I seem to recall an old timer telling me years ago about using a bar of soap rubbed on both sides then wiped off to reduce glare some. May try that and see what happens. Didn't know if you might have heard the same thing.

Exactly Nesh. No adjustment in my frame or posts though. Best I could do is maybe change the rake of my car.
