Channeling a door body

I bought a deluxe T body from Speedway with a door. I cut the body for a 3 inch channel but the door sill ended up below the frame rail. I raised the body 1/2 inch to make the door sill even with the 1/2 floor. Is this a common problem or did I do something wrong? I think I can raise the body even 3/4 inch and still look channeled. Let me know what you think.

I would leave the body where you want it and have the door opening below the top of the frame.

What size are your frame rails. If they are 2"x4" rather than 1 1/2"x3" that may be part of the problem.

I used 2x3 1/8 inch steel.
