the problem when turning the mounting sideways is the gear lube leaving some parts dry. I always fill the box as much as possible before installing it.

steering ratio lock to lock A manual truck box will have lots of turns lock to lock. The first T bucket I built I used all the turns, calculated arm lengths. The first test drive sliding around in a field I couldn't turn the wheel fast enough to steer out of a slide. that box was about 6 or 7 turns. I line one about 3 to 4 and enough castor so not be twitchy.
