Dodge Front Axle

I'm sure most people are familiar with Ceec's T woodie. Beautiful car, with a multiple bend Dodge (?) front axle. Chrome ... neat looking. There was some debate about availability. How hard would it be to use modern techniques to make a reproduction of that axle? Has someone already done it?

Thanks Putz for the pic. 1 picture = 1000 words. Ceec related that about a week ago he (and his T) hit a block of wood on the fearway @ 60 mph with the rt. front tire. Took out the tire, both left & right bolt on steering arms and 4 heim joints. At present I believe he is looking for a Chrysler (not Dodge) axle and spindles for the repairs. My thought was that a fabricated axle could use readily available parts and still have a unique look.

I guess it is known as a chrysler double dip tube front axle I believe 1932 here is another pic I know the car but can''t remember his name.

I have two axles similar to this one that came out of 50s era Dodge trucks. Mine have welded spindles and are under utility trailers.

I believe the tube version was mad in the mid-'30's. I'm told there is no difference between the Dodge and Chrysler axles. They are very easy to adpt Ford spindles to. Even the stock brakes (hyd.) work well.

I had one out of my 37 Plymouth 2 dr sedan. It is now rebar under my ex wife's tool shed. Feel free to go and get it :)

they show up on HAMB every once in awhile. I had an email from a guy that had one for sell but I cannot find the email.

I just bought a body, frame, and front end a few weeks back. I have been through literallly tens of thousands of pics trying to find out what the front end came off of. A guy said it was probably a dodge. The axel is identicle to yours. Not as nice!. Do you have any pics of the spindles. Do they look like this one? I cant figure out how to insert picture yet.

Your pic shows Gordon Hoy's car. That is actually the same axle that is now on Ceec's car. Gordo sold it to Ceec.

That axle is still on Gordon's car. The axle that is on Ceec's car was another one that Gordon had. We had to make some steering arms and brake adapters for Gordon's.
