Drivetrain rumble

LOL ride it awhile and they will sag and then that rumble will need fix again . Been there before.

Found a good tranny shop a few miles from home and they know hot rods. They can't take me until next week, but I have other fish to fry anyway.

If the rumble happens during braking, it probably means that your rear end is rotating slightly and changing the rear yoke angle. If you don't take care of it, it will become a horrible thumping and shaking.

Rear end is IRS, center section bolted to frame, so that is unlikely. The vibration is present during deceleration and gets worse if braking. Must be related to the raising of the tranny, that is the only change I made. I'm guessing I need a longer yoke (or longer driveshaft), but next week will have an expert check it out.

Trans mount moving up has the same effect. And IRS mounted to frame probably doesn't move much, but additional axle torque from braking adds up to off-angle condition with vibration.

Probably the driveshaft angle, but it could be the length also....a either/or situation.

Hope the trans shop found out what your trouble was and corrected it!
