Ford vs Chevy spindles

Hi, new to the forum, and getting ready to start a T bucket build. I have been building mainly 60s-70s musclecars for some years now and am ready for something new..so a T bucket seems like fun. Couple questions!
I am getting ready to order a front suspension kit from speedway, this will be a low buck build and the price is right for their plain 4" drop front axle kit. They offer the kit with either 49-54 chevy or 28-48 ford spindles, what is the difference? Does anyone have a picture of what they look like mounted, maybe one looks better than the other?

If you do not have any parts at all right now. It doesn't really matter. If you already had parts, then you would want to match. It basically comes down to what you want. There are disc kits for either spindles.

I would also suggest you check out RPM's front end kit as its better made and cheaper then the speedway stuff. His link is at the top of the forum.

If you click the link in my sig there are pictures of the Ford spindles along with RPM's front end kit.

RPM is also a Speedway dealer so he can sell you better axle/suspension/hairpin kit than you will get from Speedway and he can sell you the spindle/brake kit of your choice for a bit less than Speedway. RPM uses a heavier gauge tube and he stands by his work 100%. I've bought several items from him and always got first rate service. He'll also take the time to answer questions. He's got my recommendation.

Thanks, I have nothing now, but I think I will go with the Ford spindles. The RPM stuff looks great, only issue is that speedway has a special on shipping, so I can save a lot of money that way. I actually was hoping to get the stuff from Wintec since I am not terribly far from them but I do not see a comparable setup on their website. I saw their stuff at the Bristol CT swap meet and it looked good. I have to get front suspension, front brake parts, and some rear suspension parts as well for now to get a roller built. Already have a frame, body, radiator shell, rear, and engine/trans. Lots of little stuff to get, I will price it out from both places and see if shipping kills the deal. Thanks again!

LOL, pics will come, collecting parts at the moment, start building in a month or so...finishing up a 37 buick hot rod at the moment, T bucket will be next.

Just going through the RPM website, lots of good stuff and the prices may make up for the difference in shipping. I will see if they can hook me up with what I need.

Pics of that will work as well :)

Here was my first pic: We are not picky!

I will get T pics, just wont be until the build starts. All parts are in storage in a couple different garages, but here is a pic of the 37 in progress. I put the body on an S10 chassis, lowered, small block, 700r4, etc. Build is really just for laughs, it is going to be a reliable drive anywhere road car but is going to look just like it did when it was dragged out of the woods. I plan the T bucket to be shiney but it is fun to build a car for once and not care about scatching the paint!
