Having clearance problems, fuel pump will touch frame rail. Anybody know of a really small fuelpump.Otherwise just goin electric..Thanx

How much is it hitting the frame by? You can put some flat washers between the motor mount and the block on the right side, then slot the big hole in the mount on the left side. You could gain about a 1/4" this way.

Thanx Ron I think, I'm just gonna go electric. Spotted some E pumps that that run 4-7 psi..

This winter change over from electric to stock. Why? I bought a summit electric and it died in just a little while. I bought a mallory and it worked great. However, all the time it is in my head if this fuel pump quits in any small town I am S.O.L.

So I went back to stock and it starts fine and runs fine.

Another solution would be to notch you frame rail for clearance.

Frame is powdercoated allready,Electric pump is to easy. my only issue with the e pump is my 70 year ole pops will leave the switch on and god help the float valve fails and fills the motor with gas. Gonna get switch with a light in it or sirens or somethin..I know right now ill get a call w/ him sayin "I got about 3 miles from the house and damn thing just died out on me and it wont start".....

You could put a pressure switch in the oil line to turn power on and off to the pump. Would also need to bypass the switch for start up. In this case I would use a time delay relay of about one minute wired to a N.O. contact to supply power to the pump tell you get oil press. One advantage to this is the pump will shutoff when oil pressure is lost ie: wreck, rollover etc. Would be easy to do.

Dave's got the hot lick. But Duke is running neck and neck with him on using a pressure switch.

Jim, I guess I need to go back to the day you joined the site and start looking at all of your posts. I'm obviously guilty of overlooking far too many of them. Are those heater hoses I'm seeing in the image above? I somehow missed the topic where you had posted all the images on how you built your seat, until just a few minutes ago. Very clean work, sir. Actually, I think your work is just a little too good, which means you really should hand your car over to me and get busy building something with a little less attention to detail. :winkn:

Thanks for the good words, Mike, and yes those are heater hoses. They are connected to a 28,000 BTU heater with a three speed blower. You have caught me! I'm really a big sissy when it comes to cold weather.

You guys are killin me,pressure switchs and heaters...lolol
OK, I guess I'm confused. (That seems to be happening more and more, these days) What's wrong with building for safety and comfort? :shrug2:

Jim, the doc warned my blood pressure medication would leave my feet and hands cold. And he sure wasn't lying when he said it. So I can most certainly relate to what you're saying.
