Good morning everyone. My name is Eric Clark and I am new to the Bucket scene. I just bought my first T-bucket car and am ready to get it running. It needs a few little things but I dont think it will take to long. I have attached some pictures for everyone to see. I am looking for any help I can get with her. = )

Thanks everyone and looking forward to getting this baby road worthy.

Eric

Here are a couple more pictures. I need to get her running. = ) If you see anything that is bad, wrong or needs to be fixed, please let me know. Also, I know nothing about the 1923 TBuckets or American made cars (been VW and Porsche for many years) and would love some thoughts about the heads and the engine and tranny and if its good or bad etc.

Thanks everyone for any input.

Eric

3 things;

1.)remover the wheely bars .. cop magnets

2.) check all the heims to see if any are worn .. or replace them all .. driveshaft u-joints too

3.) do a complete nut and bolt inspection and then have someone else do one too

Ron

Hi Eric,
Dennis "Flathead" Mahar here from San Diego, CA. Welcome. Fred's Fun Run on November 6 & 7 in Tucson. Get a hold of Fred Weller for details or give me a call. Hope to see you there this year. There will be about 7-10 SO-CAl T's members going. Also, each year in San Diego we have the SO-CAL T's 101 Fun Run. Watch this forum or the NTBA for details. See ya

Hey Eric, Ron here from Wickenburg. I own three T's currently, but am paring (trimming) it down to the one I am currently rebuilding. There are a lot of T-Bucket owners in and around Tuscon. Randy's in the Desert will be a good resource for you.

Eric that shock tab in the back is bent now its not very safe to run a shock off a 1/8" tab.Just me here.

Randy in the Desert. Is he on the web or is it a shop or a business?

Good catch on the tab. I will look at it and see what I can do to fix it.

Thanks all.

Eric

Anyone know about these brakes? I need pads for them but I dont really understand how they bolt up. Is that spacer needed? Anyone have any pictures of these brakes on a car setup correctly? Any insights would be very welcome.

Eric

the brakes look like go kart calipers. Here is a link to there new ones.Caliper
That is one thing that on older buckets the brakes where not up to todays standards. I also agree with Youngster about the wheelie bars attract cops. That one pic looks like a proprtiong valve if that is what it is i get a new one and get your front brakes working.

Great start Eric! Head some of the advise already given and the pipes look a little loud also. May want to tone it down a little in case you get exited the first morning and start testing at 7AM. As you check bolts you may want to use a white out marker and mark the heads. the ones not marked will stand out when your T-Buddy does final inspection. Hellow from Florida:cool:

Eric,
I have the same master cylinder, it is off a Corvair. Mine is attached behind the dash. I'm not a fan of it as it is a single reservior, it does not seem to work as well as I'd like. I did find a rebuild kit on-line, can't remember who?? If you are able I'd find another master cylinder to use, I'm planning on changing mine this coming winter, I'll be using one that mounts to the frame under the floor. Good luck you will be having a blast working on your T and driving it.

The calipers you have are the Willwood 175's they have been used for years on T-Buckets.Lumen Al has them as do i.If you need parts or brackets one of our sponsers is Wintec the owner is Jim and he was at Total Performance thru there hayday and he sells the bracket kits and any thing else you need for your T-Bucket.

Wow .. it's great to see some of these old builds being put back on the street. A very good way to get started in the t bucket world.

Economy gets tight people get rid of anything they have for extra money.

Eric, well I could go on all day here, but probably easier to PM me or e-mail me to get your new ride together the safe way to ride on the streets now days... fairly easy and not too much money out of your pocket, but things really need changing, like all those female heim joints, need to GO BY BY, there is a way to do this without totally changing your Radius rods (if they are the right wall thickness now, otherwise they will need bracing as well as new ends installed, or if you would like to talk, my cell is (661) 203-0165 I am in Bakersfield, Calif. You have a good start here, so fix it up right and you will have a real fun (safe) ride...(if you drive it sanely that is) :sly:

Welcome Eric, I too am new to T's only mine has been sitting for 2 years and I'm just getting around to makeing it road worthy. I've had to put a new frame under it and basically start over. I would like to see your front end, it looks interesting and I am putting a new one under mine. I'm in Marana and would like to touch base with you.

randyshyr.com is the website for Randy's Hot Rods in the Desert. 40yrs experience in the hot rod business. RPM probably knows him and several others, as he is from Tuscon, formerly.
