New Donations System

OK, here we are at the first of a new month. (Hooray, hooray, it's the first of May, outdoor... Ooops, I can't say that here, can I? )

First thing this morning, I paid the hosting company for this new server the forums are now residing on.

Please remember, this server expense far outweighs what I can afford to pay out of my own pocket, so the future of this site rests entirely in the hands of you - the members of this forum.

I have installed a new donations system that will show a graphic representation of where we stand each month, with respect to our expenses and the donations we've received. This donations graphic appears at the bottom of the forum stack, directly above the What's Going On module on the forum's home page.

Please keep an eye on this new module and if you have a few spare dollars to help keep YOUR forum alive, let me encourage you to make a donation. Several months ago, if the donations failed to meet expenses, I could cover the costs out of pocket. That was then and this is now. I simply cannot afford to do that any longer. The April natural gas and electric bills at my home came to less money than this month's server bill, so there you have it.

I want to thank everyone that has already ponied up their hard-earned dollars to help support this site. Without you, we quite simply wouldn't be here today.

I got my Income tax check and will be sending another contribution but it will have to be by mail again as I have no Pay Pal. Can you just put up the address we can send to? Thanks Butch27

This should keep everything paid each month. If anything jumps in price, I'll adjust the donations module to reflect it.

Just a suggestion, you night want to think about adding a module to the members profile, so they can see how much they have donated for tax purposes.
