New member AZ old T-Bucket revival

Thanks. It's been a journey. Low buck fun is the plan. Still needs a lot of things cleaned up.
I see snicklefritz65 and a few others. Remember TFeverFred and SteelRebel from when they were active.
Currently trying to get a single 4 setup together to swap, a seatback and have a nail in a front tire. 😣

Sadly, TFeverFred passed a couple of years ago. Someone has purchased his bucket and is trying to finish it.

Yes, both have passed. I really miss Fred.
I didn't know that Black Dalia was still known, that's cool. Was Miss Behavin kept track of? I know he sold it cheap.
Another pic. I like how you can see thru the rad.

So, a bit of a description. Speedway front brakes, unknown (speedway?) front axle and hairpins.
Frame is an OE channel, boxed, cut, kicked. ZZ3 crate engine from 1989, it's been worked over, but no solid info from seller.
Hughes TH350 with a manual valve body, fairly low stall converter. 49-51 Olds rear axle with arms, diff is from a 52, 3:42 ratio.
Kia Rio rear coils (light) replaced the huge previous springs. 46-48 Plymouth rear shocks replaced the Harley coil-overs.
Ford F1 steering box, Chevy steering arm connecting to drag link. T wheel.
Modern vette style master on firewall, 5:1 ratio pedal, no booster. Takes a firm push!
Old body with card 'glassed in but faded to all white. Sanded down and primed, will need some work and blocking before paint. New floor, old stuff was a cobbled mess. Previous paint on body does not match paint on shell, lights or bed (all were Orange).
Basic headlights, 51 Chevy PU tail lights, Junk gauges and switches, flat dash.
Lots of improvements to come, but will not be a show rod.

I share your opinion to build a driver, not a trophy queen. The only thing I would be concerned with is that brake pedal ratio. Do you have plans to fix that? Mine is 7:1 and is an easy pedal push to stop.

Yeah, power ratio should be 4:1, manual 6:1. It's not ideal, but the fix is either move the pivot point up (it's already just under the cowl) or lengthen the pedal, which moves it from under the ball of my foot to under the arch. So it's just stiff. 20250429_125316.jpg

When I lived in Houston and single in the 1980s I saw a show queen. The inside of the body was painted the reverse of the outside, like you were looking thru a simi clear body.

Wish I had that much money on a whim!!!
