Hi Ron, the bolt doesn't carry any load, its just to keep the bracket and spring together in movement, the load is carried by the bottom of the spring eye riding on a hardened plate (a piece of spring) inside of the bracket. I'll try to upload a drawing soon

Ok, that could work. I'll wait for your sketch. Still thinkin a top bar would be a good idea to limit the housing travel. Hard to get the whole picture here in a few pics and words.
