Off The Wall Bucket

Those holes are very appropriate with a Z'd frame. Nice job.

I'm guessing the kick-ups are cut square to match the angle of the 2x3 rails and for more welding area for strength or both. I used 2x3 for kick-ups and plated the insides.

I used a hole saw in a drill press to make the holes, it actually went pretty quick and didn't seem to dull my hole saw that much for how many holes I drilled. The front Z is 4 1/4" tubing to match the 45 angle on both sides of the frame and it gives almost another 50% of contact area for welding.

Thanks guys! Finished the other frame rail and got them tacked together, the front crossmember is there for good and the back one is just tacked to help keep the frame straight.

It is pretty short! 93" wheelbase, everything is pretty shoehorned in it. Frame is a rolling chassis now. For how short the 4 link is there is barely any pinion angle change throughout the travel.

Picked up a '28/'29 Model A grill shell but with how channeled my car is and the Z'd frame the grill was waaay to tall so I had to cut it down a bit to make it flow a littler better.

Is it the angle of the photos or is the grill shell still higher than the cowl? How about a good profile shot.

Jim

I was thinking the same thing. The shell looks higher than the engine, and the engine looks higher than the cowl, so....
