Hi Guys and Gals

Has anyone purchased the SPEEDWAY assembly manual ???
If you have what do you think of it ??
I purchased one about 3 weeks ago and am very disappointed.
There was very little GOOD info in it
seemed as though it was more a catalog of their T-bucket parts than assembly manual.
IS IT JUST ME OR HAVE OTHERS FOUND THE SAME
SHOULD I CONTACT SPEEDWAY ??

I also ordered a Speedway manual a few weeks ago. Thought that it would be like the old Total Performance manual. I was also very disapointed. It seemed to be nothing more than an advertisement for Speedway. Very little in good information about T Buckets. I am going to contact Speedway and see if I can return mine. Not worth the $20.00 plus shipping.

Try TBucketPlans. Its the best I have seen for the money. It isn"t specific to either that you mentioned but it has more assembly info than you will need.

You can contact Speedway, but three weeks after the fact seems a bit late to come to your conclusion even if supported by others.

You have however, provided the rest of us with an opinion we can use to to make an informed decision about the manual.

Personally, I've found a number of items in the Speedway catalog that are just not presented in a manner or with sufficient information about the product to make them worthy of my consideration.

Further, they're careful how their ad copy is written. As an example, they offer spun aluminum tanks, being very careful to not to call them gas tanks - though that appears to be the implication. And to state these tanks are for all off-road vehicles. I wonder how many of these tanks are mounted on the backs of T's filled with gas and are driven on the street?
Even the black poly tanks are not called gas tanks.

Having been in the business for ever, stating that a part is for off-road use gives you a good deal of protection against lawsuits. That is why you see it used so often on parts that you know will go on street cars. If you have a problem on a street car, be it of product failure, compliance with state local laws, etc... then the manufacturer can always fall back on the notion that they sold the product for off-road use only and you have used the product not in accordance to what it was intended for. :)

how disappointing I was hoping it would be like the total performance book. According to speedways website it isn't on backorder(which it is) and that it's by Total Performance. Can anyone who has it tell us if there is any useful info. that speedway claims is in the book?

If any one wants the SPEEDWAY MANUAL i will send it to you for 25.00 shipped
Call me if interested

DUNNO I sent you a PM

Hey guys
Need to bring this 2 year old thread back to life
Out of the blue speedway sent me an update to the Assembly manual that I bought over 2 years ago
The NEW ANS IMPROVED VERSION is WELL WORTH THE MONEY
It has alot of VERY GOOD info in it
I was very surprised to get this update and now I feel it is worth buying
I hope all the guys that bought the other one got the update
Frank

I'll vouch for what Frank said. They did the same to me. They sent out the manual which was basically advertising . Then bang out of the blue I get an updated manual which actually has some meat in it. For those interested speedway was selling some left over Total Performance manuals in their Street Rod garage sale department. Dunno if they still have some or not I just haven't looked lately.
