As a life-long Packer fan I have to say something.
I was a Packer fan before Favre. I was an ecstatic Packer fan during Favre's years there. I'm still a Packer fan after he "retired."
There was never any doubt that Favre could play.
Just image an alternative universe where Favre didn't retire and the Pack went on to win the division a couple more years only to lose in the playoffs because of interceptions from the gunslinger.
Then imagine where Aaron Rodgers would have gone (and he would have left if Favre came back to the Pack).
Heck Rodgers might have ended up in Minnesota. They have been a really good team for a couple of years, but only needed a QB. Favre walked in to a very good setup.
Seriously though, he's still a great QB and would be on any team in the NFL.
Too bad he's no longer a Packer, too bad the whole thing went down so ugly, too bad he now plays for a division rival, but good for him for proving a 40 year old can play almost twenty years straight and still be considered one of the best on the field.
We could talk "IF" all night long (and IF a cow $#!+ butter you wouldn't have to churn, just lift its tail and dip it out, right?) but the truth is the Vikes have a very good team, the Pack didn't protect and didn't score when it was needed.
I know from personal experience... put on the pads and take a hit from a college player, then multiply that by ten times... see if you can get up after getting hit by an NFL player.
I respect ALL of them, even the kickers LOL.
