What type of rear shock mounts to use?

I am planning on mounting the rear end to the frame soon. With some research I have found different types of mounts being used. How important are these?

Because I am putting together a used 23 bucket these mounts (similar to pic below) were mounted on the old frame, however after a search it looks like they are for the front. I am mounting coil over shocks.
Is this picture correct? It seems like the shock mounting on the outside of this bracket is not strong.

We have all kinds of shock mounts both front and rear. We like to keep the upper rear shock mount lower than the top of the frame. The reason is the gas tank will set on top of the frame. Withe those mounts sticking up it really limits the size of a tank you can use. We also sandwich the shock between the brackets.
