T-Boy Body

This just keeps getting better . Keep posting

Thanks guys. I am getting very close to paint on the body which is back on the rotissorie, but first I am going to strip down the chassis components, sandblast the chassis and paint it. It has now been 7 months since the start of the body build and I feel that I am getting near the end. What to do next, Hmmmm? :)

Looks like some awesome progress. I see you have supports going to the front of your body. You have a steel frame just wondering where they needed?JMO

I used the supports to completely stabilize the door openings. Although the body was built like a unibody car, the base of the door openings are only 3/4" in height which could flex under load (bumps and uneven roads) causing the margins of around the doors to move, chip paint, etc. With the stainless steel rods in place (which will be polished) the flex is completely eliminated. :cheer:

Thanx for the photo's!
That is what sets T owner apart from the rest(adventure)

KEEP THE BUGS IN THE RADIATOR!

I have made a bit more progress. I sand blasted the paint and old filler from the chassis. By the way, the HF $149 pressure pot blaster with 110 pound capacity (weight of media) works extremely well. It took a total of 3.5 hours to completely strip the frame. Of course, you will need an air compressor that can keep up.

Well, anyway, back to my update, I stripped the frame, filled and molded in all of the welds that show and sprayed two coats of high build catalized primer filler. Speaking of different, which this ride is for sure, and a nice one at that.. My own T Bucket was different when it was new a lot of folks told me, but as time and more hit the road, people copy if they like it... Happy building :spank:

Thanks Ted, it is certainly keeping me busy. As soon as I finish this, I get to start on my car crazy wife's 1962 Morris Mini resrtoration. Well, at least I can put in in my pocket and work on it where ever I go. LOL

Looking good looks like you have a little extra sand from sandblasting to fill in the cracks in your drive way. Do you have a completion date you are looking to hit?

Completion date for the cleaning driveway, or finishing the car? :spank: I have many parts to have re-chromed, and then there is all of the polishing to do also. It will probably be several more months at this rate.

Just a little progress update. The chassis is painted and the chrome is back. I am using a lot of stainless bolts, so I am busy polishing. Here are a couple of photos of the chassis and before and after polish work..

I am pleased to say that with Mike's help, I have located my original posting of the project. When I couldnt find it some time ago, I started a new thred entitled "T-Boy Update. Since he helped me locate this one, and since it has the progress from the beginning of my build, I think that I will continue from here. Here are a couple of photos, since I have forgotten how to attach from photobucket. As soon as I remember, or if a king person refreshes my memory, I will upload more..

Thanks,
