Hot Rod Bucket

Well, here is the future frame. The little pieces on the right are the T. This could be a long build. Bare with me. I am not a fabricator or a hot rod builder. Learning as I go. Hopefully, when I ask stupid questions on here, you guys can help me out. I have been gathering parts mostly so far. I gave up on the blower motor and settled on a 383 stroker motor. Nine inch ford posi rear with 4.11 and a built 700R4 tranny. More to come as it happens.

The second body sent by Ron. First one destroyed by evil forces. This one only damaged slightly. Little stress crack from shipping that you can see on the drivers side. If I cannot fix that, then I am not worthy of hot rodder status.Apparently it is a magical act to get pics to appear on a continuing basis. Promise, I will work on that as well.

Jim - It might have as much to do with your hosting site as anything else. I used to use photobucket, but now I just download pics to my hard drive and post them from there. Works really well, though some day I will run out of memory, but that's probably a long way off. ;)

I'm using the same body from Ron Pope. Look at what I did about the bowed area in the door well. If you measure from the back of the body to the top of the dashboard ( near the rear corners ) , you will find the distance is different from one side of the bucket to the other side. This is a quick fix.

I am currently doing a 6 day dedicated bucket build to try and get these parts up to roller status. Working with my brother, we started from scratch. I have lots of pics to post later but we start fairly early and end rather late. At the end of this 6 day marathon, I will post what we did in order. We are starting day four. Jeff from Boneheadcustomz has posted pictures on his facebook page if you want to take a look at them there.

Close up of 9 inch Ford rear-end detail. Built this skull to add a little something to a plain pumpkin.

It is 5 inches from the ground to the bottom of the frame and the mockup engine pan is even with the bottom of the frame. low down from the front resized.jpg low down w show bar resized.jpg

We used an original part of a 1923 frame in the frame build.1923 T Frame part resized.jpg
Just the rear cross piece welded snugly in place.

Looking cool.
Allot of work done, nice to have 6 days in a row to focus.
I get a couple hours a night ,, maybe one weekend a month to work on mine.. its taking years.

I would guess with all that trany and drive shaft in the bucket you will be doing or did a shaft cage ?

Wow, that is so different from mine. My spark plugs are just above the frame rail! [Hey it's works
if you want to run a tunnel ram or blower and want to look over the top.]

Keep up the fine work, it's fun watching this car come together!

Thanks much. We actually did 5 full days of work on it. One day we goofed off completely. No telling how long it will take from here though. I flew home and plan to drive back and get it in March, trailer it home and start the next phase of work on it then.

The crate motor for this came two days ago. Got it on the stand today. Waiting until March to bolt it in. This motor is nothing special like Island Girl's mill, just a 4 bolt main 383 stroker. 383 stroker motor resized.jpeg
