A Good Day

Pics this time... I hope so ....

Redneck CC.jpg

At the Redneck Country Club.
The red patch is a piece of red vinyl that I wanted to see how it looked. I have a blue piece up on the drivers side in front of the windshield.
I like the blue, the copilot likes the red. Just seeing if it is less $$ to get it wrapped instead of painted.

First Wash.jpg

First time it was washed. Ha Ha. after putting about 100 miles on it I have a few things to sort out.....
wheel hop right at 60mph when a bump is hit. Does not do it below 60 or above 60. Smooth ride then.Well, as smooth as a T-Bucket can be... ha ha. I'll work on the front end next weekend.
Maybe a shorter steering column.
An interior for it (winter project).
A cam/springs/lifters for it!

My Copilot

well, technically challenged again. Just tilt you head and don't tell her..... We were heading out to a local place for a bite to eat.

I'm in Ohio, but in addition to the policies on our daily driver's, I carry a general liability bond that satisfies the states requirements and covers me in whatever I drive no matter who owns it. That way I don't have to carry policies on every single vehicle that I rarely drive and I'm legal.

Fred,

A brief run down of steps....
Save and get your receipts in order.
Take 3 pics of your car. Front, side and rear.
Get a picture showing an original Ford Model T also.
Get insurance on it. Liability is good for now.
If you don't have a certificate origin or a vin number, you need to apply for one from the state.
Your local auto theft division has to inspect the car, to make sure none of the parts are stolen or have numbers on them, hence the receipts.
They will fill out a form that is good for 28 days only. You take that form to Texas DPS and get a Vin number.
I had to trailor my car to Fort Bend County Sheriff's Dept.
You have to stamp the vin number on the frame.
You also have to get a pencil rubbing of the vin number on the car too.
Now, you have to get your car inspected by a Master ASE Certified mechanic in the 8 areas of certification defined by the state to inspect your car.
You'll need a trailer again. He has to provide a photocopy of his certificates showing they are all current.

It is very important to make sure you havery all of the original signed documents/forms that the various agencies and depart men's sign. Don't ask me how I know.

You need to get a certified weight certificate too. Trailer again.

Take all this documentation, receipts and pictures to you local tax accessor office and get your temp plates.

A lot of this can be filled out by you before you.

Look up on the internet for the Texas Assembled Vehicle Manual. It is confusing at first, but after reading it a few times it will start to click.

Mine is being tagged as a street rod. You will see why when you read manual I mentioned above.
The title will say ASVE 2019 23 Ford Model T.

It sounds worse than it is. It really was pretty easy. No hassle at all except for the personal tag I made up did not pass the board of review. Oh well, I think the second one did.

If you have any questions give me a call and leave your nam so I know it is you.

Sorry for it being so long.....

PaulR

Thanks, Paul.

I believe it was much more easy to get my aircraft flying , FAA inspector only came and looked once everything else was pictures , after all he wasn't the one going down the runway that first time

I never really was afraid to fly until the two Boeing 737 crashes along with the software issues came up. It kind of reminds me of the new self driving or driver assisted cars. It takes away any control that you have over what happens. I guess I'm old school. I like to have some control of my fate. These new cars that keep you in your lane, stop the car if you're not paying attention, pretty soon they'll blow your nose for you! The more things they put in these new vehicles, the more time you have to not pay attention; texting, face book, etc.
Just sayin'

I agree 100%!

Not to mention the cost of those features. I will never be able to own a new car since they
have so many non-required features for driving that only make the price higher and higher.

The cars are bad. Pickup truck ad " starting at just $62995" like that's some kinda deal , that DOUBLE + What I paid for my first house 42 years ago. You could get a plckup for about $3K then. What's wrong with the math ???

And with all those features, just wait until you get into an accident. Rear view camera, side sensors, let alone the "rubber bumpers" that don't protect anything. And, as 2O2F said" the cost of a new vehicle". Holy crap. That's exactly right. My first house was $29,500.00. Now that's not even a good down payment. I'm starting to sound like my father. I'm done!

As prices go up the quality doesn't. I don't want my car to drive it's self. I want to drive it . ME , THE HUMAN. Who gets blamed for an accident ? You or the manufacturer ? How is the department of motor vehicles going to handle that ? Is the accident going to be listed on your driving record as your fault or the manufacturers fault ? LOL !!!!!!! What a big potential can of worms !! Looks like you would be classified as a PASSENGER not an OPERATOR. LOL !!

All of the electronic components will fail long before the car should too. The insurance companies promote this stuff along with data loggers, etc... I prefer skill to automation.
