From what I can remember, weren't Corvair's known for having a really bad oversteer problem...a challenge to drive? I always thought the rear engine belt system was a fascinating feature of the car.

I think the models thru 1964 could have had problems; the swing-axle rear end was bad about sharp turns. But the 1965 and later models had a version of the Corvette IRS and handled great. I had one.

My friend had a 64 that was on a ‘66 chevelle frame, front engine, ran 10 second quarter miles... Not sure about cornering.
