I just thru the process here in Texas a little more than a month ago and I had no issues to speak of.
As long as your paperwork is in order it should be no problem.

Just an update, I now have my plates and title. The process was pretty smooth all things considered.

Great news. I had to fight to get one with just a out of state bill of sale. Ended up getting a court order demanding the DMV issue a title.
