yes it'll work just fine Craig. I use a lil less hardener for this. make it easier tp spread.

I just checked home depot for fiberglass mat and resin. Mat is like $7 for 9 yards and resin is $35 for a gallon

oh how much would I need? And how far do you channel the body over the frame if at all?

A gallon shoud do it. A 3" channel is pretty much standard. Any more and you start giving away interior space.
