Great looking hot rod! Experience tells me that you will need some kind of 'stop' at the base of the windshield to keep it from moving back at speed. (Don't ask how I know!)

ouch! i made 3/8 pegs that will have rubber bumpers just for that reason

had someone ask me some over all dimensions. Frame is 4.5" off the ground. Nothing hangs below the frame rails. Max height is 41.5" to the top of the windscreen. 12.5' long from tip to tail.
My track width will change because i plan to use different wheels and tires.

Paint or powder coat on the wheels? I have spokes on my roadster that were done in pc about 12 years ago, and they look like new.

Got two coats of primer and 3 coats of gloss black on the wheels this weekend

on the hunt for tires...

Wheel adapters showed up. They are 5x4.75"(Chevy) to 5x5.5"(Ford) @1.25" thick 6061 aluminum power coated black. I forgot to take a pic.
The wheel adapter does two things to make it possible to run the old Ford wire wheels. 1) changes the bolt pattern 2) spaces the wheel away from the brake caliper.
Unlike modern wheels the center of the wire wheel was designed to work with drum brake only. They will not fit modern disc brakes.

I changed out the front wheel studs on the speedway hubs that use a 7/16" X 1.35" long stud for a 12x1.5mm X 1.673" wheel stud. I did this so that the front and rear would all use the same lug nuts and because the front studs needed to be longer to accommodate the wheel adapters. Stud PN Dorman 610-261 10pk

Still trying to decide on tires... But on a side note to those that run the old ford wire wheels with a 5.5" bolt pattern. Old Jeep truck rims have the same 5.5" bolt pattern and are also a 16" rim.
My plan is, if the wire wheels do not do well, i can put the same tires on my old jeep rims.
