Building a 350 Chevy for a T bucket project, using a 88 model 4 bolt main block with older model double hump heads. It has been a while since I've built a sbc and have a few questions. Since I tore this engine down a couple months ago, seems like I have gotten a bad case of CRS, Can't remember "stuff";
1) Does the oil filter bracket that blots to the block have a gasket?
2) Does the cam have a retainer thats held with two bolts on the front of the block that holds the cam in, to prevnt it from moving forward?
3) My engine had a one piece oil pan gasket with two narrow metal straps with holes that sandwiched the oil pan to the block. Nay one know where these strips can be found in chrome? can they be left off?
