Alternator bracket

I'm thinking of moving my alternator. It's presently located on the lower left(drivers side) of the engine. Well, it just a tad close to the frame. I'm looking at one offered by Speedway. Here's a pic:

The problem might be that my upper radiator hose goes straight towards the radiator from the intake. Not like the factory outlet that exits towards the left. Has anyone used this or seen it used? Will the hose be in the way of the belt?

Thanks for your help, guys.

PS: This will also valdate the purchase of a chrome alternator!

Fred,

Not what you are asking but I used a passenger-side mid mount from Alan Grove for mine. It sits very tight to the block, is high enough to clear the frame and worked great with a long water pump and March pulley set. I used a ribbed belt vs a vee and have no fan as I'll be running pure electric. Was only about $35. Not fancy, no chrome but perfect fit and it pretty much faded into the background.

Thanks, but I'm running a short pump. There's not enough room to run a long pump, as it would hit my electric fan. There's a neat OEM setup, but it is also for a long pump.

Fred, I'm sorry that I don't have a better picture but I can get you one tomorrow if you need one. I got my alternator mount from Speedway and I have a short water pump. It makes for a clean and simple mount that is not sticking way up in the air.

That looks good, but the bracket would block my upper hose. My upper hose comes straight forward from the intake.

Yes, I've seen a couple of these. Looks cools, mounts cool, hose, not so cool. Have 2 Options.
1. Go to Summit, they have a swivel neck, get yourself a long TIG length welding rod or metal clothshanger, straighten it out, going from your radiator to your newly purchased swivel neck, bend that welding rod to where it look like it clears. Take said welding rod to Auto Parts store, and get a couple of hoses long enough and bent like your rod. Usually I keep around some old exhaust flex tubing for this. It helps out with hoses and with doing funky pipe fitups.
2. Go to Lowes, get some SS undersink pipe OR Muffler tubing that'll just fit inside your hose. Take your bent rod to the muffler shop and have him bend you up a piece the size or shape, or get them to bend up your SS piece from Lowes.
Don't fret if they scratch it some, polish the scratches, or if its the muffler tubing, you can have it powder coated or painted, and run a short piece from you neck to metal tube and from metal tube to radiator.

That metal tube is my favorite trying to miss the Gilmer belt things when putting on a blower. You can get close to things without worrying about rubbing a hole in your hose. Also looks cool, too.

So, it won't work with my hose in it's present position?

Thanks, PUTZ. I checked it out and that's what I'm looking for! Thanks to everyone who also checked.
