Local junk yard has a couple 375 trannys for sale. I have never heard of a 375 - they described it as a 400 in a 350 case.

Anybody have a opinion on this tranny?

It will be behind a 150hp chevyII engine.

They are asking $200 but I think I can talk them down alittle.

A good ole relable powerglide would work real well behind the 4 cyl.

I think the 375 is what you are gona have in it to get it going.

THM375B - This trans is identical to the THM350, but is considered a heavier duty transmission.

THM375 - This transmission is a derivative of the THM400 sharing the external appearance of the 400. It'll be marked 375-THM on the bottom of the tailshaft housing. It's a light duty version of the THM400, has ABSOLUTELY NO RELATION to the THM375B, and was found in 1972 to 1976 full-size cars. The Turbo 375 was modified to accept the Turbo 350 driveshaft yoke.

Yup....Telman2 is right...its like the poor mans version of the turbo 400. Behind a little 4? Hum....if you want 3 speeds....go turbo 350, a little lighter and will cost less power to push it down the road....
