Distributor Vacuum for TH30 Transmission

Folks,

It's nice to be back after a while. I hope you folks and your t-buckets are doing well.

I'm setting up a distributor vacuum line for my TH350 modulator. I plan to use a hard line, but how do I hook it up to the TH350 modulator?
Also, I seem to be having a hard time finding the fitting on the intake manifold side.

Do you have any pics of the setup? Any ideas will be helpful.

Cheers,
Andy

IIRC the stock vac. line was 3/16 [as in brake line] the mod. end was swedged w/ a "sealing rib" then about the last 1/2" was small enough to actually slip inside the mod. nipple , the hose was then over the joint. I really don't feel this is a necessity , just couple the tube to the mod. w/ a short piece of hose. As for the top end , you can pick up vac. off the carb base or a seperate fitting on the manifold , doesn't really matter as long as it's manifold vac. , Not timed vac. hope this helps

Andy. I originally used 3/16" brake line for my modulator valve but under very light throttle or cruise conditions puttering around town here the trans would want to keep shifting from 2nd to 3rd and back. I took the vacuum from the carb base plate to the manifold with no change. I took the 3/16" hard line off and went with 1/4" hard line and it solved the problem. I guess it's just a better vacuum signal. I'm running an Edelbrock RPM cam, manifold and carb package. I have probably no more than 2'' of rubber hose on the modulator end and about 3" on the manifold end.

I agree 100% with handyman his is the best setup. What intake are you using?
