Gas tank vent

I'm dumb to this but I believe that the small vent hole near the threads are supposed to be close to the top of the inside of the tank. So if the tank is say 1/8" thick then the vent would be in the gas. I'd use an adapter or spacer of some sort to raise it up..Oh well shut up wayne....I'll leave this alone I can't think straight right now. Sorry. Carry on.

I had one of those in the Model A and splash was more of a problem for me. I just ran a hose out the bottom of the car. Not filling the tank all the way and eliminating hard left turns helped too.
