Got started today

Got my radiator today. :D

I know it's nothing major, but it IS a good looking radiator! :)
The pulleys, brackets, alternator, and tire dollies are coming tomorrow.

Nice Rad....where did you get it and how much?

It was included in the price of the kit from Spirit, which was why I was a little surprised to see it show up all by itself. But the invoice in the box says it's worth $445.

You got dollies for your tires? Mine have to play by themselves. :)

Nice looking radiator.

Now that was some funny :poop:right there!

Yeah, I guess it was!

The radiator was shipped directly from a place called Portell's Radiator Shop. Must be who Spirit uses.

wow...that is nice!!! almost a shame to cover it with a shell......

I also got the gas tank from RPM. I guess I misunderstood, I thought it was going to have a hole for the sending unit.

Also got pulleys and alternator. I'm going to send the brackets back and get one for the other side. Mounted like this, it's in the way of the fuel line.

Did I read correctly elsewhere on this site that I need to cut off these tabs on a turbo 350 transmission to get a Spirit body to fit?

Looks like we're on track to get my kit next week. (or at least shipped) I got an email from Josh at Spirit saying my frame is done and they're just finishing up the body. He said they're just waiting on the seat. :D

It looks like Spirit will be ready to ship my kit mid to late next week. However, I'll be out of town for work the following week for work so I won't be here to recieve it. So I guess it will be at least the week of May 4th before I can get the kit.

In the mean time a few parts have been coming in. I got the starter, flex plate, torque converter, etc. I got a new alternator bracket to move it to the drivers side but I hate it so I'll be looking for another one again. I'm going to a car show today hoping to see a couple t buckets to get some ideas.

If you have a Spirit body and frame you do not need to cut off those tabs. You may have to clearance the driver's-side tab a little for the brake pedal arm.

Why not build your own wheel dollys? and when you do, use as big of wheels as you can find, the bigger they are, the easier they roll, a small wheel, will get stuck at every crack or on anything laying around, this is one place that bigger is better.. hehe :)

i have 15" wheels on my car and that's with out the rubber! seriously ted's right the dollies are easy enought to build. i don't put the wide tires on till i'm done working on the car. most of the dollies aren't made for wide tires. i have rollers (baldies) that i use around the shop.

Satori sont be swayed Ted and Youngster are just jealious of you new dollies sorry(barbies). My experence is you cant buy the materal to makeum as cheap as you can buy them at Harbor freight. Just givin Ted and the Youngster a hard time HAHA

I'll be travelling for work next week, so I'll have to wait for my Spirit kit until I get back the following week. In the mean time I did get a pic with the latest goodies installed on the motor.
