Houston we have separation...

So I was giving the car a look over today while trying to figure out why the back of my car has been "squeaky" lately. It appears the floor has separated from the body at the back. I will try and get some pictures later but what a bummer. It is a TP kit and they use a watts link above the rear end housing. You can see where it has hit the rear of the body a few times on big bumps and I am going to assume had something to do with the damage.

I just broke 3000 miles the other day and I am going to assume the springs have settled removing some of my clearance. I cranked the springs back up as high as I could go but it is too late now.

It looks like that is exactly what happened. Do you think the body is going to have to come back off to fix it properly ?

Don

Yes Don. It is sagging now so it needs to come off and be flipped over so it will line back up, then fiberglassed back up. At least that is the way I would do it... lol

I myself would re-mount that whole Watts link setup lower, not on top of the housing... Either in front or behind the housing, to keep it from hitting anything as the body goes down, (or change it all together to some other type) also need travel stops...

I was thinking the same thing Ted. I was thinking of using the watts link and just weld a bracket on the back of the housing where it should be. It just won't "look right". lol

Could polish the watts link or chrome it that would help looks.

What is rest of rear end like? Coilovers? Radius rods? Can you get a pic or two with the watts link in them? Lotsa ways to skin a cat...
