Does anyone have any suggestions on finding a small luggage rack like on the trunk lids of some convertibles? I am thinking about adding one to the turtle deck on the T for hauling some misc. There is NO room inside the T.

thanks

Try JC Whitney. I bought one many years ago for the back of my Bugeye Sprite, it was just about the right size for a T. Or find an Austin Healey website and check there.

That HD rack looks good. I guess, I'll have to go by the HD shop to get some dimensions. JC Whit also had a decent looking one, also chrome. It's about
half the price of the HD, but I'll bet the chrome and quality are not the same.

Thanks for the help

I will save you the trip. When I saw your post, my first thought was an HD rack since I have one on my HD Ultra Classic. It measures 20 1/2" wide x 14" front to back x 4" in height. The mounting points (4) are 12 1/2" x 8" c-c. I hope that this helps...

Thanks for the information. I have let the body down without installing a rack. With fall coming fast, I needed to get it out of the garage. I bought a new gas tank from Ron to have some clearance for the rear axle travel. While I was under there, the rear cross member and spring perch looked risky. So out comes the sawzall and in goes a new crossmember and perch. I had the body blocked up where I could work under the turtledeck. At some point, I will have to remove the body completely and hope to correct all the issues with the T. It will definitely need a rack. I wrote down the dimensions, so I can find them in 2 places. Getting older everyday. I got everything hooked up and made a drive out across the field. The left front grabs and the right sticks. I pulled them both down and will have the shoes relined tomorrow. I think they are 40 something truck brakes (Ford). The wheel cylinders have 1 3/8 cups on the front and I think 1" on the rear. I already had new cups, covers and springs. I had washed the shoes in brake cleaner due to a leak before I owned the car. The shoe lining started falling apart.

Anyway thanks again for the help.

I had custom luggage strap mts made for mine. I put the luggage on the padded bed cover and strap it down.
