New frame build new member couple questions

I'm building my first t . I'm using youngsters plan . I bought a 27 t rolling chassis but not much seems to be usable. The guy I bought it from used a 27 cowl and doors and homemade the rest of the tub. It measures about 58 inches in length from the longest part. I want to run a 350 motor and was wondering on some of your cars how much room is there between the fire wall and radiator . I'm not sure what a average t body measures but I'm going to be cutting the metal soon for the frame and I trying to figure how much space I need for the motor . Any advice is appreciated.
 
I have an after market T type radiator and I measure 33" from the tank to the firewall, 33 3/4" from the core to the firewall and 2 1/2" from the mounting face of the mechanical fan to the core with a 1 1/2" spacer on a short water pump. I also measure 1 3/4" clearance between the cap on the HEI unit and the firewall. I hope that these figures will help you.

It's 39" but I doubt if that measurement will be of any help as I have quarter elliptic springs in the front and not the "conventional" buggy spring that Ford used.

Think about this for a moment. You have quarter elliptic springs and not the buggy springs....but aren't the Ford cross leafs basically two quarter elliptical springs that have a common mounting point? If that is the case what are the advantages and disadvantages to each?

The longer you can get the springs the nicer the ride... I have a 54" axle, boss to boss, and a 48" spring, probably 20: wider than most other cross leaf springs... Now, if you run 2 full elliptical springs, rather than quarter elliptic, with a pivot point in the center and shackles at the frame end, and solid type on the axle, you now have 2 full length, springs with less leaves (maybe only 3 per side) to give a real nice ride, and no sway bar is needed that would do battle with the springs...

What you say is quite true, George, but I chose to run quarter elliptic springs for a cleaner look. With my set up the springs are basically out of sight. The reason that I answered pickaway's question the way I did was I thought that he needed the measurement from the firewall to the end of the frame was so he knew where the front cross member would be to mount the front spring as in most T's. As you can see in the picture below, my measurement would be of no help to him.
