New windshield glass in my frame

What did you use in the sides of the windshield frame? Did you use the black goo there too?

I did and it worked very well. I put a large bead in the bottom then about 1/2 as much in the side. Then i slid the glass in tring not to push the goo out of the side. When it seated the horz section the goo oozzed out.Then i put tooth picks on one side of the vertical and then ran a bead on the toothpick side then put the tooth picks on the other side and ran a small bead in there> I used some rags with a little mineral spirits to wipe the over goo off of the alum and glass.

Hey rooster,

i just noticed you're an okie! I was born and raised in thomas, but lived in tulsa town til '87, when i moved out here for the motion picture business. I have kids in stillwater, ardmore okeen and okc.

Back to the glass - i had one of my t's with gold tint. It looks pretty cool. I learned to have the glass guy install it and put in the silicon. I tried it once and had the crap all over me, the glass, in my hair, and finished i took it to the guy so he could make it look descent.

Yes the silicone is a mess but i just stayed with it and luckly it turned out alright. Tulsa is a great place. Lots of stuff to do . In fact i am off to the Handlebars and Hotrods meet today at the new Spirit event center in Bixby Ok. just about 10 miles from home ,and yes i will be posting pics of all the bikes and rods.
