Want to see who has the longest and shortest drive shaft. I think ted said his was only like 7 inches from yoke to yoke.

Well.. ya.. but you need to keep in mind that Ted is getting up in years now. I believe mine came in at ~17" if memory serves.... but then my memory is about as long as Teds driveshaft.

Yes that is one of the best sitting Roadsters I have seen, anywhere, easy to get into for sure :thumb: mighty pretty as well, Jim keeps it sooooo clean, that is something I do not do much of, cleaning and polishing, too much everyday driving, plus I just don't get off polishing... I am jealous of those who keep their cars that clean, just is not me I reckon..

On my new chassis, I plan to cage in that beauty just in CASE.. I broke one once, and learned a good lesson... hehe That short of a drive shaft needs the two yokes turned 90 degrees from each other for more angle movement without binding...

You would think the company that made it for me would have known the yokes had to be 90 degrees from each other. Looks like I will be paying them another visit.

This something fairly new used on 4 wheel drives Tom woods super flex Ujoint. The yokes are offset a little as you can see. Neat idea

If you can get those super flex joints for our type of rear ends and trannies, sure would beat all the hassle of staggering the yokes on the shaft itself for more angle clearance, because to build a shaft staggered, you must install a u joint and a front tranny slip-in yoke so that they can be set right on the money with each other... I wish they had that type of offset U-Joint back when... hehe :wow: Plus I see that they grease it through the cap to keep the fitting from getting in the way, I guess...
