SBC Rebuild kit sources?

After 20 years the 305 SBC in my C30 flat bed is getting tired.I'm planning on doing a basic rebuild on a second 305 and swapping them out .This truck only sees a few thousand miles a year so a cheaper kit with cast rings etc. is all I need .The 305 has done anything I have wanted in those years so another 305 is fine .A lower priced kit is fine I don't need moly rings and forged pistons but I don't want JUNK either.I have posted this on 2 boards and members here and there will be considered first when I buy.Links would be much appreciated.
My questions are
Who's kit do you use or sell ?
what prices will I be looking at ?

I was originally looking at Northern and PAW's kits for my 283 sbc that needs rebuilding. Has anyone out there used these suppliers?

Because my engine was previously bored .030 over back-in-the-day, I'm thinking that I might get the pistons from the machine shop that does the new boring.
Any comments would be appreciated.

I let my machine shop clean the block up first, then ordered my pistons after he told me the size..

I 2nd rock auto. They have good prices and quick delivery, even to Canada.

Me to, I had Moritz machine here in tulsa clean and check the block then bore, turn my crank i purchased the parts from him and ended up within 100.00 of just what the kit costs on line or at the Zone.

When I lived in Enid in the early 80s Moritz did the machine work on our late model stock car engines. They did good work. Do they stilll have their funny car?

Dickpassed away a couple of years ago. i heard the car is in a collection in kansas. Hear is the artical.
Dick Moritz, owner and founder of Moritz Machine Inc. and St. Morite Racing Components, died July 20 in Tulsa, Okla.
Moritz began racing in the late 1950s with a Pontiac gas dragster and quickly progressed to some of the more innovative blown-gas dragsters of the 1960s and early 1970s. He teamed with drivers Charlie McClintock and Ray K. Lundy to set performance marks and score many victories and divisional championships. Moritz later raced fuel Funny Cars with Leroy Hamilton, John Osborn, Jim White, and Ron Dudley and won several AHRA and ADRA events and NHRA Best Appearing awards.

And yes they do very good work still.

I was into dirt track stock car racing back in the late 90s and I used to get a lot of stuff from this place. At the time they were cheaper than anyone, Summit, PAW, Jegs, for the same name brand stuff. I haven't bought anything from them in a while, and dont remember whether they sell kits or not but it might be worth a look.

We buy all of our rebuild kits from Northern--I bet we've bought over 10 master kits in the last 20 years. You can't beat their prices and they only sell decent stuff... If you are building a full tilt race car, this isn't the place--if you want good street stuff--Northern is it. You can get a basic kit and upgrade what ever you want.

My buddy in Wichita builds all his motors with northern master kits . He just completed his 455 in his olds 442 and he loves it. I buy my stuff local Moritz,Vintage motorsports, BA speed equipment , Grandprix motor sports and PARR in okc just tring to support the local boys.

I used PAW for 2 builds. The first was my 327 that was in my truck but now transplanted to the Touring T and the other was a 440 in a Road Runner that was sold at a classic car show and is still running good.
