Steel DOM tubing for radius rods. This work?

I have some 7/8 DOM tubing with .166 wall thickness (measured with digital caliper). Will this be sufficient for radius rods? Youngster's plan called for 7/8 DOM 3/16 wall thickness. Will be tapped for 5/8-18 threads and I.D. of tubing is smaller than drill size for 5/8 tap which makes me think it will be good enough. Opinions?
