T-Boy Body

That looks incredible! American ingenuity at its best. From the garage layout to the end car design & build. You should be proud. The model T steering wheel in the picture looks new. Where did you get it?

Thanks Spike.

Unfortunately I can't help you with the steering wheel inquiry because it came with the car when I got it. I did take it apart about a year ago and refinish it.

Gents (and ladies if there are any out there),

Here is a bit more progress that I can share. I have fabricated the following items: Inner wheel wells, Tail light escutcheons, recessed license plate frame and body frame alteration.

As you can see in the photo below, the tail lights are teardrops from a 30ish Ford and have a flat back. Since the rear of the car body is parabolic (curving in two directions), I decided to make up a pair of weld on escutcheons to contour to the body, while providing a flat surface for the lights to rest against. These will be molded in later.

I have modified the lower frame of the body to accommodate the axle under severe load (a speed bump at 50 mph) and now I am ready to weld in the new wheel wells which turned out great.

Lastly, I made up a license plate box and installed it

As usual it's looking fantastic. Keep up the good work and keep us posted.

Thank you my faithful observing audience. :buttkick:

Really coming together nicely. On your fender straightening there is a drug that is used for straightening. I don't know if viagra would have worked in this instance though.

I think he is a sheetmetal voyer. He is only happy when others are watching. Ha Ha

I did try that, but it was taking too long (pun intended) since It would only straighten about 6" at a time and then I would have to rest for a while. LOL

Now that was a "cold" (rolled) comment and if I had to gauge it, it would probably be 18 or 20. LOL

Sweet, awesome work

The sheet metal work is simply amazing, but (just my opinion) the '39 teardrop tail lights don't belong. The round '37 pickup lights would have gone better with the curves on your body. A couple of them recessed on each side of your plate box would have looked good.

I appreciate the comment, as well as the gentle criticism too. Im sure that the round ones as you have suggested would look great, but after all, this is why there is chocolate and vanilla.

You may like the teardrops better after they are molded in and flow with the body, and then again, you may not. In either case, I like them and so does my wife and she sleeps with me.

I was thinking a horz slit on each side with custom LEDs would be the answer. In your analogy would this be strawberry?????? I have been married for 28 years and if my wife that said she liked um i would take it to mean "just use what you got". Here is a good test take her a pen and some paper and ask her to draw the shape of your tail lights. Ha Ha Ha But be careful you could end up on the couch like me!!!!

All valid points. I'll shut up now. :silenced:

:wacky::rofl: That is so funny......and true........that's how I do things around here. Yes Mam.

My wife is my soul mate and we are a team. I am very lucky that she has become "Car Crazy" so I am always asking her opinion. It makes life easier and more fun for me. :) After all, she will go with me to all of the shows, etc, so I want to include her in the build process.

When all of this fails, "Yes Mam" works well too. :flex:

This is too funny. I should have priced out the custom LEDs, as you have suggested, but it never occurred to me. See, just another reminder that I should seek the opinion of you guys prior to making these types of important decisions. Maybe I should have gone to strawberryhorzslits.com
