What is it?

Found this out in one of the sheds. Originally thought it was a brake cylinder but the treaded shaft turns so now I am leaning towards power steering pump. Top says fill to line and something about transmission fluid. There are some small numbers cast in the side of the body but no name on it.

Any ideas?

Power steering pump would be my guess too.

I would sat either power steering or hydro boost pump for power brakes.

The cover has about a 5" dia.
