Let's Talk Tunnel Rams (Yes again)

Zack: My advice is to get as many different opinions as possible before making any drastic changes. There are many T buckets out there running tunnel rams with two fully functioning four barrel carbs so it can be done. See if you can find someone local that is experienced and can help you tune...

Let's Talk Tunnel Rams (Yes again)

Ben is using a dual plane, dual quad manifold. They work very well. A good friend ran one (Edelbrock manifold, carbs and progressive linkage) on a 383 cubic inch, 4500 pound Chevy pickup, daily driver and ran deep into the 11's on the strip. Totally different from a tunnel ram intake manifold...

Let's Talk Tunnel Rams (Yes again)

OK. Let's say "semi-IR" manifold. Although most of the tunnel ram manifolds have a plenum, it is small (unless you're using a really old one). It's going to be difficult getting a good air/fuel distribution running on the primary venturies of the back carb. Edit to add: There should be some...

Let's Talk Tunnel Rams (Yes again)

Progressive linkage on an IR type manifold is not a good idea.

    torque converters

A T bucket with a motor that idles at 1200 rpm and has a stock converter is not going to be a driver friendly combo at stop lights. Why is the idle set so high?

    Siamese vs Non-Siamese cylinder bores

It just means there are no water passages between the cylinders. The 400 SBC block is siamese. Not the best design but required with big bores in cylinder blocks that are smaller.

This Forum has a "View New Content" button, a feature that is an absolute necessity for those of us that don't have hours to spend digging through all the different sub-forums. This forum is run by a benevolent dictator. An absolute necessity to keep a forum civil. Ryan, the guy that runs the...

Nine times out of ten, I imbed my photos. Unfortunately, that doesn't show up on the index page. Regarding the NTBA forum, it's very unfortunate that the technology there hasn't kept up with the times. I still visit there, I'm a life member of the NTBA, but it is unfortunate that changes haven't...

23 GT in Sept Hot Rod

T bucket, fad T, track roadster, etc. They are all just a little bit different. I don't consider this one a T bucket and for sure not a fad T. It really doesn't matter though what you call it, it's a nice car and I'd love to have it sitting in my garage!
