    Trans tunnel down below...

Much like body filler, 1st coat does not always look great. Same with fiberglassing. Once this sets up, will move on from there, probably a bit of grinding, then maybe some cloth and finally body filler. The blue colored stuff is resin jelly, something I like to use to control dripping, the rest...

    Trans tunnel down below...

Flipped the body yesterday to do the underneath of the trans tunnel. I had originally done it laying on my back, and it was not done well. I cleaned up that part this morning, and cut a new piece of mat to cover the whole blooming thing. We'll see how it goes. More later. .

    Prime after primer?

Do I need to lightly sand first? Gotta fill some 60 grit sandpaper scratches you can see here. If I sand, what grit? This one of the two air horns on an old vette air cleaner I smoothed out...

Here's some pics... I could go into a long explanation, but it's late and I got other things to do! Got a question, just ask.

    Engine turned (jeweled) dash

Next thing is the firewall. Can't really do that on the drill press, so may have to do that by hand. Very carefully. Got a big fire roaring in the woodstove, makes it comfortable upstairs. Doing home repairs, get the house ready for sale. Garage should warm up by this afternoon.

    Engine turned (jeweled) dash

Seeing if I can post a pic now... This my recently done engine turned dash. Hope to do the firewall the same way.

I have the post reply button but not the upload a file button. Just took a bunch of pictures of my hot rod project today for a friend who was interested, and was hoping to post them here. Already have 20 posts with this one. Just waiting.

I have a bunch of pics of my 1923 t tub project, and thought after 10 posts I could just post pics from my computer. Unfortunately, I can't figure it out. All I see here is an image button just to the right of the smiley face that only works if you have a web host for you pics. I would...

    It's FrankA!

It's prepping the surface for a glass-like job that I'm not great at. No experience with stuff like that. I can wield a paint brush all day, but that kind of finish is beyond me. This is not single stage, it's three stage: base, paint and clear. He also has a paint booth, where I would have...

    It's FrankA!

I do have a spray gun (more than one) and a big dual stage compressor. I've used it to prime the body for sanding to have a pro do the final painting. If you saw the kind of work this guy does, you would understand why I'm using him. Can you say mirror-like finish? Plus he has an equipped...
