Under estimated the amount of torque made from the steering box while turning. I had a piece of 7/8"
tube treaded to 5/8" that screwed to the output shaft of the corvair box, It had a 3/16" roll pin plus a jam nut
After sitting the front wheels on the floor I went to see how things turned......WRONG..... The roll pin sheared just like it nothing.
OK, I thought,I'll go 1/4" roll pin, Started to drill it out and my drill bit broke off half way in. Been trying for 2 hours now to get the bit out. :(
Once it's apart I'll post pics.....

couldn't get the bit out in the car. so I cut the shaft in two and removed the box and shaft.
more to fun follow

Thinking about 1/4" grade 8 bolts. Wonder what the sheer is on them?
