I have the windshield support rods but haven't installed them yet. I have to trailer it to MVA Tuesday after which I'll remove the windshield and get the rods installed.

I don't know that I'd be that concerned with support rods. Look at the picture below of a friend's T. His windshield is about as tall as yours and he has no support rods. We have driven MANY miles together at highway speeds and he has never experienced any problems.

Also, if you notice, he has NO upper cross support bar.

Also depends on the body thickness and how you back up the mounting screws cleat nuts in a wood backer is best in my opinion.
