Why can't I clear this notice?

The following message is constantly displayed while I'm on the forum.

"Telman2, your site mailings preferences have been changed. Please visit the How Do I...? forum and read the To Continue Receiving Site Mailings thread to see how to restore this option."

I changed my preferences to receive site mailings and saved them but the message continues to be displayed so I went back in and did it again and again but the message won't go away. What am I doing wrong, I'm beginning to feel like a dog chasing it's tail.

DUH! I'd slap myself in the head but I'm afraid I'd mess up the few brains I have left that are still working.
My kids say I suffer from sometimers, they say it's like the beginning stages of Alzheimer's.

I believe you click on 'Watch Thread" which is at the right side of the page, across from the title at the beginning of the thread.

Didn't work for me, but then that message can stay there forever and I ain't gonna care. I'm purty use to forums and websites doing weird things.

Stephen, if you move your mouse over the upper-right corner of the notice, you'll see the Dismiss Notice dialog appear. Click your mouse and it will be away.
