A year of absence

Just received an email about not being here for a very long time. Life just simply gets in the way. Couldn't do anything T-Bucket related, so the interest just evaporated.

Anyway, after the email reminder, I figure I'd better show my face again.

I've actually moved forward a few baby steps toward building my car.

Around May 1st I had my K & S Customs body delivered. Very nice, working door, extended body. So I am showing signs of life again.

Also, I have to say I debated whether I was actually going to build a hotrod with gas the prices, never to be cheap again. Just seems to be a bit strange in this environment. But, desire overcame common sense, and I spent the money for the body.

I've got my Vette rearend, my 440 (still to be assembled), my auto transmission that I still need to rebuild, and I'm also going to build my frame.

The frame, I have a question I'll ask on the proper forum.

I'm going to be taking pictures through the whole process.

Since I live in Vermont, right now I'm finishing up some garage insulating so I'll be able to work during the winter as well.

I have no idea how long (years?) this project will take, but I'll update each time I make any progress.

I'm glad to see ya pop back in. Hey, the cool thing about hobbies is that there are no time limits, unless you put them in place. Stay cool and rock at your own speed. Heck, I think there's a guy on the NTBA that's been working on his for 10+ years!

Oh, good to here the K&S body was of good quality. I'm going with the same body, maybe this fall.

It's gorgeous.

There was quite the problem trying to get it shipped. Nobody wanted to do it. Something about being hazardous material. Darn government rules are really screwing things up badly.

UPS Freight finally did it, but it wasn't cheap.

Welcome back Terry. What do ya think of the site now?

Welcome Terry, even though you were here before me. :D Keep us updated on your build.

Fiberglass is a hazardous material?

It seems so for some reason. It's probably not the glass fibers, it's probably the chemicals involved.

Or, what terrible substance might the evil fabricator have implanted in the part to conceal it for shipping?

Heck, just use your imagination. The people that made up these rules sure did.

The forum has changed a lot since a year ago. First thing I noticed is a bunch more members, which in turn has produced some fantastic information.

The layout is great as well, to me anyway.

Glade to see another builder Terry, welcome on bord ,now that thats out of the way ,lets see some pictures!!!

There's nothing to see yet, just parts laying around. I will be mocking up my frame using wood pretty soon. Since I'm not using any of the standard, customary parts, I have to build my frame, but in wood first just to get measurements.

Here's my Vette rearend and transmission. The engine shown is not my 440, in fact, it's already gone. These parts are now in the garage.
