The fuel line runs through a copper pipe on the floor board tucked against the frame rail. That should get it done, Jim. Love your build pics!
PS - Will that fuel line be shielded in some way from your interior?
What material is the fuel line, just wondering if it will have corrosive effect with dissimilar metals being together. The fuel line runs through a copper pipe on the floor board tucked against the frame rail.
It is also copper. What material is the fuel line, just wondering if it will have corrosive effect with dissimilar metals being together.
Very cool center console.
I wouldn't be surprised if it ends up with some spooky steel artwork on it eventually.
I'm sure he's got the fuel system under control, its not rocket surgery.
A return line also works well to prevent vapor lock with naturally aspirated engines because it keeps the fuel cooler. Although in a open wheel, open bay car heat buildup is less likely to be problematic.Just a thought.
Did you have a port for a fuel return put in your tank? Lot of guys I know have gone the EFI route, using the replacement "carb" type system.
May be worth running a return line anyway while you have easy access, just in case.
That part is behind the body, not in the interior. I will try to get another pic with more line showing and the body in place.
I have grommets on each end of the copper pipe the fuel line runs through so I think it will be ok.Nickel-Copper? Are you planning on putting some O rings or pieces of rubber hose (I don't know how much clearance you have) every so often to keep the tubing from chaffing one another?
Sorry Fletch, I just read your post about grommets on the fuel line on the Spider
Doesn't bother me. I have made some changes and additions based on the help and suggestions I have gotten here.He most probably has, but we try to help members here in case they have missed something simple.
Thanks much. My brother is quite the talent with an idea and a welder.
