I made 2 of these and glassed then to the back on my dash panel. I left the original flat metal 'dash' for want of a better word; and used these to mount the new curved one to it. It means that a little effort and the whole curved dash, instruments and wiring can be released and dropped to sort out any problems.
Thing is with just one speedo and a couple of idiot lights mounted in it I could use a multi connector so the whole dash assembly can be taken out in a few minutes.
Gerry - mine has the 4 studs and the 5 weatherpack connectors and I’ll be able to pull the hole thing out. I might have to loosening the steering column a bit too. Shouldn’t be too bad but hopefully everything works nicely and I don’t have to take it out for issues!
Im going to add a few metal straps to hold the harness in place and a couple led lights in the back side of mine yet. I’ll post some more pics once it’s all done.
You only have to make yourself happy as no one else can. If you always think positive--you will find a way to do whatever you can think of and you wont break the bank doing it.
Have some parts hanging in my paint booth. Ha ha. The black paint has informed me that my dash will need a light skim of filler at some point but that’s for later.
Man this thing looks good. It’s all done, besides some body work and final paint but that will come after some shakedown time. now I’m working on running the wires to it. I have that close to being done too but ran out of wire. Need to run to Napa and pick up a few more rolls.
Just got my air intake buttoned up. I will need to make a little extension for my maf sensor but that about a 10 minute job once I have the right terminals and connectors. I will have to move my radiator forward just a bit.
