My ProjecTee

Choppinczech , are you trying to say i'm articulate ? Thanks for your compliment. I think you are an amazing fiberglass fabricator. I can't hold a candle to you. Here's some more progress photos : DSCN1145.JPG DSCN1146.JPG DSCN1147.JPG DSCN1148.JPG DSCN1149.JPG This is the driver's door. I've already completed the passenger's door & it's temporarily installed on the t bucket body. I'm going to cut a slot for the striker , then the latch will sit lower in the recessed area ( driver's door ).

MORE PHOTOS :DSCN1147.JPG DSCN1154.JPG DSCN1155.JPG DSCN1156.JPG DSCN1157.JPG MORTILE is clay like ; I use it to dam up areas to prevent resin seepage into unwanted areas. I have to glass the fiberglass piece labeled " save " on to the backside of the cupholder/storage space insert. This will prevent objects from falling into the door behind the cupholder / storage space.

More photos :DSCN1158.JPG DSCN1159.JPG The tongue depressors hold the cupholder ' storage space insert at the right height. Level with the door frame upholstery strip. In the future all of the framed areas ( around the door latch , cupholder/storage space insert & the border around the door ) will be used for attaching the upholstery door panels.

I like your outside door handles. I considered adding some to my bucket but the latches are very easily accessible by simply reaching inside, so I passed. Keep up the good work. I wish I had some of your energy so I could finish mine.

Indycars ; my project has a removable hardtop & will have side panels with clear sliding lexan panels or clear hinged lexan panels. I am building a 24/7 all year round vehicle. Do some of my fellow forum members think I'm trying to lock an open air convertible roofed car ? That would be totally whack. My project goals are to build a closed coupe / sedan.

Yeah, I just assumed it would be an open car and that you were not really planning on locking the doors.

I've posted my future goals in past posts ( more than once ). My closed car concept seems to not be grasped by a few forum members. I'm NOT angry at you because i tend to also be uninformed ( i'm 74 years old ). I wish you well my friend. I've also been challenged for wanting to install a heater/defroster & windshield wipers in my future closed car. This is normal equipment for a closed car. NOT normal for an open car. Just trying to explain my unique situation. Hope you don't get offended. I'm looking forward to future positive correspondence.

I totally agree Indycars. It's hard to keep up even with ONE forum. Neshkoro ; I don't think anyone is picking one me either. I think this forum has a great group of guys & gals. All of them are willing to give a helping hand to a fellow forum member in need. A person couldn't ask for anything better. Moving forward ; I'm still working on the driver's door striker plate ( just about finished with the task ). I'll do a couple more mods to the door well to convert the passenger's side door well ( which is what i'm using ) to a driver's side door well.

Now that I find out you are 74 years old and are getting so much done I really feel like a slacker for using age for the excuse for not getting stuff done! Way to go pal! Lol

Oldroundfart ; you also need to factor in a person's health into the equation. My health is pretty good , so far. Arthritis can dampen a person's spirits ( you can be plagued with that @ any age ). Don't forget cataracts also. Have a good day ORF , in spite of life's depressing realities.
