Hi guys i fly out to Chicago on the 18th Sunday 3 days in Chicago and then will be traveling through Michigan , stopping at Allegan Pentosky and Bay City. Are there any events or meets near where i am as i would love to meet up with some of you guys, and see your rides. Also are there any car related places that are worth a visit whilst i am in the area.

If you're around long enough, definitely go to this one in Sept.. It's @ Kalamazoo and will be (13-15 Street Rods Nationals North)

Since you'll be near Grand Rapids, here is a link for a huge junk yard. Not sure what engines you're looking for or the price range, but these guys should be able to fill your request.

While you're in Petoskey, walk the beach and pick up some of the stones to take back with you. As easy to find along the beach as sea shells. Here is a link as to what they look like and what to look for.

i will be careful, i am sure it will take a bit of concentration on my behalf. the gas will certainly be cheaper than here though

Not familiar with the area at all, but while up there, I enjoyed the Henry Ford museum. Seems like I saw something going on at Woodward Ave. Maybe some of the locals can advise. If your trip is not all mechanical, Navy Park or something like that, in the Chicago, Lake Michigan area is a nice place for sight seeing. Again hopefully more informed members will correct me on the names and locations. Enjoy, hope you have a great visit.
