I'm 44. I think it's a mid life crisis thing with me, got to 40 and just had to have one lol.

Most rodders in the England are on the older side of 40.

Here's my $.02. 62 as of last Nov. Retiring in July, YES!!!! The best part of that is ol' Mister Wiskers is going to send me a check every month so I can build cars and stuff.
At last, life is great!!!

Well from what our poll results are currently, well over 75 percent of us are on the "older" side of 40 here too!

Welcome PowerGlide :welcome: Post up an intro, let us know who you are. :D

I am 53, and my dad is 79, and still doing the car thing. We are building a 27 T we got from Spirit, and it goes to the paint shop this Sunday...There is nothing like building a car with your dad...and have him ask you "who taught you to do it that way...."

That's really cool, Pete. Cherish every minute with your Dad. Got pictures?

I have been working on it for 5 years.
Funds can be kinda tight withe the family and all..

Just because we get old does not necessarily mean we have to grow up. You have to keep a "young" outlook on life and live every day as though it is your last. Have fun! I have been doing it for 66 years.

I have passed the street rod torch on to my older son. He has a Dearborn Deuce under construction along with a SoCal inspired '64 VW Volksrod. My younger was into rods until he got bit with the Harley bug.

tbuckettodd...Welcome to the site. I understand where you're coming from, with the passion and a family. It'll get better. Just don't wait another 3 months for your second post, lol.

...approaching 51, and I'm leaving the gray because I want restaurants and golf courses to mistake me for a senior and gimme a discount.:D

I gotta laugh at that one.....A few years ago my wife and I made a road trip thru Nevada and stopped on our way to Phoenix at a casino in Carson City for somethin to eat....I was in line at a BUFFETT ( i love those things !! ) and the ol lady running the til asked me how old I was? I told her I was 56, she said that was old enough and she gave me a Senior Discount !! The wife got a big laugh out of that one !
I'm 58 this year.......Ain't so bad, just cuz my back is killin me don't mean I'm dead or nothin...I'm still above ground...."BH"
